The Empower app promises convenience but falls short with confusing terms and hidden fees. After the trial, you’re unexpectedly charged monthly. Customer service is unhelpful, making cancellations a frustrating experience.

Complicated fees and restrictive access make Empower frustrating to use.
Empower’s subscription setup feels misleading. Once the brief trial ended, I was surprised by an $8 monthly charge. With so few services available and steep cash advance fees, I can’t really recommend the app.
